The Republic of Dagestan

Dagestan, officially known as the Republic of Dagestan, is a republic within the Russian Federation. Located in the North Caucasus region, it is bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east and by Azerbaijan and Georgia to the south. Dagestan is known for its diverse population, with over 30 ethnic groups calling the republic home.

The Flag of Dagestan

The official state flag of Dagestan is a large rectangular banner divided into three equal horizontal stripes. The top stripe is green, the middle stripe is light blue, and the bottom stripe is red. The flag was adopted on February 26, 1994. The green stripe represents Islam, the light blue stripe represents the Caspian Sea, and the red stripe represents the bravery of the Dagestani people.
